The English Championships 2014 in Bormio Italy has gone off to a great start for Glasgow Ski Racing racers. We have 20 trainees racing at the championships this year, some for the first time and we are recording some great results. Sunday saw the first day of racing, the Super G which for some was their first experience of this event. Well done to everyone who took part, but the Super G glory goes to Zak Vinter for 1st place in the championship race. Al Sandland scored a great result in the first race with a 2nd place, coming 4th in the championship race.
Monday was the big event, the Minis Combi.. Amazing results from our Mini Girls Isla & Erin Ward who were 1st & 2nd in the U10 event. Thomas Ward lost out to 5th place by 100th of a second, great skiing Thomas. Jamie Sandland finished 10th overall which is great as Jamie has another year to go in minis. Well done also to Fiona Wylie and Euan McLew who are racing at this level for the first time.
Monday was also a GS training day for the children and Tuesday brought the GS Race proper. Today the race belonged to Fraser Middleton who won 1st place, fantastic result from Fraser who came back from injury and a season out last year. Owen Vinter first year U14 scored a 2nd place result today with his training buddy Al Sandland coming in 4th, well done to both U14 boys. Further detailed results can be found on Britski.com
